Dieses Selbstportrait mit meinem Vater war die zweite Arbeit einer Reihe von Portraits mit meinem Lieblingsmaterial, der Ölkreide. Wer wie ich den direkten Kontakt der Hand zum Farbauftrag liebt, dem ist die Ölkreide ein angemessener Freund und Ersatz zum Pinsel, welcher doch immer einen Abstand zwischen Maler und Leinwand bedeutet.

This self-portrait of me and my father is the second one of a series of pastel-crayon portraits. Being one of my favorite painting materials the oil-crayon is a direct connector of hand and canvas, and thus a great replacement to the brush which always creates some sort of distance between the two.
